From Siete Iglesia
Two minutes and I was on the road Siete Iglesias was so small, dawn
Sun hitting the pine trees which emitted the most refreshing fragrance.
First village, 3 bars open but only 7 km down so pushed on for the second one another 7 km.
Ups and downs
Lots of ups and downs, ups long and slow
Giving into the road
After coffee in the second village another 16 km to go, no wind, warmish, I just gave into the road, 4 hours walking ahead.
Mellow day, even the stones let up for a while.
More of the 16km to Toro
Semi abandoned hamlet en route
The way ran parallel to the Dura River, had glimpses now and again, wide, fast moving.
Back to rough road
Back to rough road, a challenge after 13:30
Toro ahead, on top of a cliff!!
An arrow in the wrong direction
It took a good while to get into the town, a long steep climb. Someone had defaced some of the signs and painted an arrow in the wrong direction, a wasted 3/4 of an hour.
The view from the top
Looking down, having got to the top.
The annual wine feast in progress, great energy but not a single room available.
Finally arrived in Zamora, 17:30.
Also festival day as it is a long weekend, today being a public holiday. Thank God found a place to stay.
