After arriving I made a trip out for groceries, came back had a cup of tea, then out again for Mass. Lovely priest, very enthusiastic about me walking the Camino, sent me with the sacristan to the priest’s house where another older priest, also very welcoming, gave me the stamp.
Made my day, beautiful 15C Church, good, friendly vibe.
Leaving Toledo early this morning through one of the City gates.
After a hazardous few kilometers the Camino opened up to her usual.
A little chapel
A little chapel came into view after 17 km hard walking.
Passed tomato fields, harvesting in process, tasted one, Roman type, acres and acres.
Otherwise a rather desolate road as the late morning rolled on
Finally, the village Rielves in sight after 24 km walking.
All morning, to the right of the Camino, there were plumes of smoke, they must have been burning grass, approaching Rielves the quality of air was challenging.
Plus a Castle
A magnificent old church at the entrance to the next village, Barcience.
