I arrived in Valencia yesterday afternoon after passing through Barcelona. Not so easy to calm down after hectic weeks of retreats and preparing and packing for the Camino. I did none of the tourist things while there apart from visiting the grave of Gaudi. It's presently closed to the public except for early mornings and evenings so I said a prayer from outside. Sagrada Familia still takes my breath away even if it is surrounded by a jungle of tourists.
Valencia has a low key vibe to it, much quieter than Barcelona, went and asked for the first stamp at the Cathredral this morning and stood a moment at the Door of the Apostles of the Cathredral where the Camino officially begins.
I still have another day here as I plan to begin walking on Wednesday but will see what tomorrow brings and how I feel.
