Today’s walk was 29.7 km, I was supposed to go on an extra 9.8 km to Toledo but decided that was too much, it was a walk of villages, five in all, punctuated along the way the walk and that made it interesting and doable.

The first village, Mascaraque was fast  asleep, not a single soul to be seen, as I passed through around about 08:00 in the morning. The second village, Almonacid de Toledo, was just beginning to stir as I met an elderly lady and I  asked if she knew where I could get coffee. She beckoned me to follow her and took me down some narrow little roads to a hole-in-the wall bar which I would never have found on my own and where I had my first coffee after 10 km walk.
