February 15-18, 2018 | SERRA RETREAT HOUSE, MALIBU, CALIFORNIA

The Cave of the Heart is an ancient metaphor for the realm of the sacred, dwelling inside each of us. Through story, symbol and Scripture we’ll journey to this blessed place, where we can connect once again with the wildness of the Divine. The goal of this spiritual exploration is to allow us to live more fully, freely and happily amidst the complexity of today’s challenges. Cave of the Heart I is the first of three, unique standalone retreats.

This weekend will allow plenty of time for rest, reflection and solitude in the foothills of the picturesque San Gabriel Mountains above Sierra Madre.

Most rooms are single occupancy, with a few doubles available. There are a limited number of handicap accessible rooms, please contact Karen Judson to discuss your specific needs

Retreat cost $400 | $175 deposit due with your registration | $225 balance due by July 1, 2017

About Serra Retreat House

Under the patronage of Saint Junípero Serra, the Apostle of California, our Serra Retreat  invites you to move forward in your spiritual life, embodying Serra's famous statement: "Always go forward, never turn back."

This is a Catholic retreat and conference center which provides the space, in a beautiful setting, for peace, serenity and reflection. Located between the mountains and the ocean in Malibu, California, the Franciscan Friars continue the ecumenical tradition begun in 1943 for welcoming group and private retreats, as well as workshops. Serra Retreat provides a superb opportunity for church groups, schools, non-profit and profit organizations, to reflect, plan and set new goals. The Friars and staff invite you to "come apart and rest a while" (Mk 6:13) mindful of the saying: If you are too busy to make a retreat; you are too busy.

You are invited to visit the grounds Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm for personal prayer and relaxation. No  reservation is needed.

Weekend visits to the grounds are by appointment only. Please call during the week so we can notify the gatehouse. Thank you!
